Kiane von Mueffling (@kianevonm) realized finance and consulting weren't providing her the creative outlet she needed. After becoming a @soulcycle instructor, Kiane made a pivot to start Sold Out NYC (@soldout.nyc), a collection of limited edition must have clothing and accessories for women. @karliekloss, @cturlington, @alessandraambrosio, @brookeshields, @kellyripa and @shakira are fans among others, and @evachen212 featured Sold Out NYC in @shop on Instagram. Kiane's collaborated with @therealdvf and @stateofescape - needless to say - both collections sold out. Listen to the essential lessons Kiane articulates in this fabulous podcast episode 27. Consumers need to see themselves in the brands they buy. Aisha Kolo was an avid fan of consumer brands while she built a successful finance career. After moving lock, stock and family back to the US from Nigeria, Aisha wanted a mission driven cosmetics brand that represented cool, ambitious, working women who wanted to look the way they felt inside and advocated for the rights of girls and women. Cue @bossylipstick - a line of cruelty free, high performance lipwear. We love the story of this finance gal taking the plunge and launching our new fave lipwear brand.
